I started receiving homeowners & auto insurance through Allstate in late November of last year. I was charged $160 to start the homeowners policy... i was under the impression when they took my money i was insured. On November 6th i was sent a notice through the mail explaining that they were terminating my homeowners policy because of some missing shingles on the roof of the property. I was a bit confused by this thinking... if they new they weren't going to insure me why did they take my money. After calling my agent numerous times & leaving dozens of messages with no return calls, i eventually called the call center. I explained the situation & was told i wouldn't receive a refund of my money because it had already been used to insure me for that month. Needless to say... i was more than displeased! At this time i told the lady i wanted to drop the auto policy immediately as well... she said no problem. Thinking that was it but still displeased I immediately called our old company to insure the auto's. To my dismay on January 4th of this year Allstate took $166 from my account for the auto insurance that i had dropped 2 months prior! I called them & they said i had not dropped the insurance & that's why i was billed.... even though they had not billed me for the month of December & i had proof that i had picked my old company back up on the same day i had called on November 6th. To this day Allstate has not given me a refund for the homeowners or the auto! Please stay away from this company... they are thieves & liars! 128941e
